when the sun aligned
with the moon,
asking,
pleading, for a moment
where she wouldn't
be able to capture
its starlight
within her colourless eyes,
the edges of the world
bit back at the ocean,
the water flowing
into the sun
as she froze and
wondered
when the starlight
she had found in
this meteor, would begin
to fade, and dissolve
into the river
the earth had
cried into the moon-
